One Body Recovered In Hunt For Blaze Death Firemen

Firefighters searching through the debris of the weekend's deadly warehouse fire in Warwickshire have found a body.

Fire crews have now been ordered to leave the building, because it is in danger of collapsing. The search for the missing firemen has been slow, due to the building being left structurally unsafe after Friday's fire.

However, a spokeperson said that the search would continue until two other missing firefighters were found.

The search, which has involved hundreds of specially trained urban search and rescue firefighters, has been continuing since Sunday for the missing firefighters in the rubble of the burnt-out warehouse in Warwickshire.

John Averis, 27, Darren Yates-Badley, 24, and Ashley Stephens, 20, have been missing, presumed dead, since being sent to tackle the blaze at the vegetable packaging and distribution plant in Atherstone on Stour in Warwickshire on Friday.

Another firefighter, 44-year-old Ian Reid, died in hospital after being pulled from the rubble of the fire. All the men were part-time retained firefighters.

Candles have been lit and floral tributes left outside Alcester Fire Station, where two of the firefighters were based.

Police are treating the blaze as suspicious.
