Third Arrest Over Sheffield Playground Slaying

Police investigating the shooting of 16-year-old Jonathan Matondo in Sheffield last week have arrested a third man.

The 26-year-old was arrested at an address in north Derbyshire, South Yorkshire Police confirmed, and is currently being questioned.

Police are also still continuing to hold two 18-year-old men in connection with the teenager's killing.

Jonathan was shot dead in a playground in the Burngreave area of Sheffield last Wednesday night. A post-mortem revealed that he died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Fresh Leads Followed In Sheffield Teen Shooting
Police investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Sheffield have said that they are following a number of new leads in the case. South Yorkshire Police said that they were "actively pursuing some strong lines of enquiry after a good response from the public".

Man Charged With Sheffield Teen's Murder
An 18-year-old man has been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Jonathan Matondo in Sheffield last week. Negus Nelson, of Margate Drive in the city, is due to be appear before Sheffield Magistrates Court on Tuesday afternoon. Police are continuing to question two other men - aged 18 and 26 - in connection with the teenager's death.

A 64-year-old mafia boss, on the run for 18 years, has been arrested in London, the Metropolitan Police have said. Domenico Rancadore is described by Italian police as the head of a crime family involved in extortion, racketeering and drug trafficking. He was wanted by Italian authorities in connection with his links to Cosa Nostra.

European Arrest Warrant Issued For Teacher
A European arrest warrant has been issued for Jeremy Forrest, the maths teacher who travelled to France with missing schoolgirl Megan Stammers. 30-year-old Forrest and 15-year-old Megan have not been seen since they crossed the Channel from Dover to France on 20 September.

Arrest Follows Sheffield Bodies Find
A man has been arrested following the discovery of the bodies of a man and woman in a house in Sheffield. The bodies of the 34-year-old woman and 46-year-old man were found in a ground floor room of the house in Wath Road, in the Nether Edge area of the city, shortly after 10.30pm on Monday night.
