Brown to Discuss Hunt For Maddie
Prime Minister Gordon Brown will discuss the case of missing Madeleine McCann with his Portuguese counterpart Jose Socrates on Friday afternoon.
Mr Brown is in Lisbon for an EU Summit where he told reporters: "I'm meeting the Portuguese Prime Minister later and we will discuss this issue.
"I have discussed this issue with him before, to assure myself that the police authorities are taking the actions that are necessary and there`s proper cooperation between the British and Portuguese police."
Mr Brown has in the past had telephone contact with missing Madeleine`s parents.

British Troop Withdrawal From Iraq 'Unlikely'
The Defence Secretary Des Browne is expected to tell the Commons that there are currently no plans to reduce the number of British troops in Iraq. Ambitious plans to decrease the number of soldiers from 4,100 may have been withdrawn, sparked by recent fighting in Basra, the BBC has reported.

More homes evacuated as flood misery continues
Around 250 homes have been evacuated in Oxford as the city became the latest area of Britain to be affected by flooding. The homes were evacuated in the Osney area of the city and some residents seeking shelter stayed in Oxford United's Kassam stadium.

Baby joy for Chancellor Gordon Brown
The wife of Chancellor Gordon Brown is pregnant, a Treasury spokesperson has announced. Mr Brown's wife Sarah is expecting the baby in July and the spokesperson said that the couple were "absolutely delighted" with the news. Mr and Mrs Brown have a two-year-old son John, who is named after the Chancellor's father.

Sussex Police Appeal For Two Missing People
Sussex Police have issued appeals for two missing people. Police are concerned for the welfare of 15-year-old Abigail Beach, who has been missing from her home since Friday. The teenager was last seen at 1am on Friday (17 July) but officers have been unable to get in touch with her to confirm that she is ok.

'Group Of Seven' Facing Missing Madeleine Questioning
Police are set to question the 'group of seven', as the friends of missing Madeleine McCann's parents have come to be known. They were on holiday with the family when the little girl went missing in Portugal and are to be re-interviewed by police in the UK about the circumstances surrounding little Madeleine's disappearance.
