More Talks Due In Postal Dispute
The leaders of the Communication Workers' Union are due to meet with Royal Mail management for further talks on Thursday to decide whether to recommend an offer on pay and conditions to their members.
The union reportedly wants to clarify outstanding issues of the deal.
A planned strike by CWU members, due to take place today, was called off on Tuesday as the union continued to consider the deal.
The union executive was considering the offer of a 6.9% pay rise and, if accepted, it will be put to a ballot of the union's 130,000 members.
The CWU has organised a series of 48-hour strikes, but strikes, which were planned for Monday and Tuesday this week, were called off after the Royal Mail was granted an injunction, because the union failed to serve the notice correctly.
Unofficial strike action has also been taking place in some parts of the UK, including Liverpool, following the end of last week's official strike. This has been in response to alterations to flexible working patterns.
Overall, the strikes are estimated to have cost Royal Mail more than £200 million.
