School Nail Bomb Attack Man Bailed
A 21-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing a nail bomb blast outside a school in Merseyside last week has been released on bail pending further police inquiries.
The blast happened at Runnymede St Edwards school in West Derby last Friday, as pupils were leaving for the weekend.
The nail bomb had been left in a Nissan Micra belonging to a teacher at the school. No-one was injured in the incident.
Police described the attack as a "despicable and dangerous act".

£1bn is being unlocked to fund the Department of Education's free school meals commitment. The news, announced by deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, follows an announcement in September that every child in reception, year 1 and year 2 in state-funded schools will receive a free school lunch.

Man Arrested Over 1998 Car Bomb Attack In Moira
A man has been arrested in connection with a car bomb attack at Moira police station 16 years ago. The blast injured eleven people including seven police officers outside the station on 20th February 1998. The 500lb device also caused extensive damage to the building as well as nearby houses and cars.

Public schools found guilty of fee fixing
Fifty of England’s top public schools have broken competition law by exchanging information about fees, the Office of Fair Trading has announced. Following an investigation lasting more than two years, the OFT found that pupils’ parents ended up paying higher fees as a result of the information-sharing.
