Family Of Murdered British Teacher Launch Fresh Appeal
The family of murdered British teacher Lindsay Ann Hawker are making a fresh appeal for information about her death.
Miss Hawker, 22, from Brandon, near Coventry, had gone to Japan in October 2006 to teach English.
However, her body was found in a bath filled with sand in a flat in Ichikawa, east of Tokyo, in March.
She had been beaten in what police believe was a prolonged attack and her hair had been cut off.
The flat belonged to 28-year-old Tatsuya Ichihasi, but he fled from the apartment when police arrived to investigate and has not been seen since.
It later emerged that Mr Ichihasi had approached Lindsay to ask for English lessons. She had agreed to meet him in a coffee shop, but never returned home.
Lindsay's father, Bill Hawker, has been handing out leaflets containing pictures and descriptions of Mr Ichihasi at Heathrow airport to passengers flying to Japan on Tuesday.
The family has also released a new home video of their daughter.
