Man Admits Urinating On Dying Woman

A man has admitted urinating on a dying disabled woman in a street in Hartlepool.

Hartlepool Magistrates' Court heard how Anthony Anderson, 27, had spotted Christine Lakinski, 50, in a doorway near his home on July 27.

Miss Lakinski, who suffered from a number of medical problems, had been making her way home when she became ill and stumbled into a doorway.

Anderson, who had been smoking cannabis and drinking before the incident, had initially tried to rouse her by kicking the soles of her feet and then poured a bucket of water over her.

He then urinated on the woman and covered her with shaving foam. The incident was filmed on a mobile phone and the court heard how Anderson had shouted 'this is YouTube material' during the filming.

Miss Lakinski was later declared dead at the scene, having suffered pancreatic failure.

Prosecutor Lynne Dalton told the court that although Anderson's actions had not contributed to her death, it was "appalling behaviour" that had "robbed her of any dignity in the last hours of her life".

Anderson admitted to a charge of outraging public decency and was granted unconditional bail until October 22, when he is expected to be sentenced at Teeside Crown Court.
