Chris Langham To Be Sentenced Over Child Porn

Actor Chris Langham is awaiting sentencing on charges of downloading child pornography.

The Bafta Award-winning star, who appeared in shows such as 'Help' and 'The Thick Of It', was found guilty of 15 counts of making an indecent photograph of a child during a trial at Maidstone Crown Court in August.

However, he was cleared of six charges of indecently assaulting an underage girl and two counts of a serious sexual offence.

Langham, 58, was arrested after his home in Golford in Kent was raided in November 2005 as part of Operation Ore and graphic videos of child abuse were discovered, which had been downloaded between September and November of that year.

The actor admitted looking at the images, but said he had pleaded not guilty because he did not want to be labelled as a paedophile.

He claimed that he viewed them because he was researching a character for the BBC show 'Help'.

He is due to be sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday.
