Nasa: No Shuttle Tile Repair Required

Nasa management have decided that no repair will be necessary on the damage to a tile in Endeavour's heat shield.

The Mission Management Team decided that Saturday's spacewalk would not include a repair of Shuttle's heat shield after it was concluded that the damage did not pose a safety risk to the crew or Endeavour.

On Friday, the Shuttle's crew and that of the Space Station continued with cargo transfers and made preparations for a spacewalk on Saturday.

The 10 astronauts and cosmonauts will also hold a joint crew news conference.

The spacewalk will be conducted by Mission Specialist Dave Williams and space station Flight Engineer Clay Anderson.
