British Soldier Killed In Afghanistan
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed the death of the British soldier from 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment in Afghanistan on Saturday 11 August 2007.

The MoD said that the soldier was killed during an attack on his patrol base north east of Sangin, in Helmand Province. Five other soldiers were slightly injured in the incident.
At 1:20pm local time the patrol base came under attack from small arms fire, rocket propelled grenades, and indirect fire. It was during this engagement that the British soldier was injured.
An emergency response helicopter took the soldier to the medical facility at Camp Bastion for treatment, but he did not survive. The soldier’s next of kin have been informed.
