Couple Found Guilty Of Killing Girl
A mother and her boyfriend have been found guilty of brutally murdering a four-year-old girl.
Her mother Sharon Wright, 23, and Peter Seaton, 22, were accused of killing Leticia Aalayah Wright in their home at Almondbury Bank, Huddersfield, West Yorks.
The girl was found by paramedics lying bruised and naked on her living room floor, on November 18 last year.
Wright and Seaton were convicted after a four-week trial at Bradford Crown Court.
The girl was covered in bruises, as well as cigarette burns and bite marks.
She died having received more than 100 injuries, and suffered trauma to her head and abdomen said to be equivalent to to a major road traffic accident.
Wright and Seaton denied the charges.

Girl's relatives found guilty in honour killing
A father has been found guilty in what is described as an "honour killing" of his daughter. Mahmod Mahmod, 52, the girl's father and Ari Mahmod, 50, her uncle, from Mitcham in south London were found guilty of the murder of Banaz Mahmod aged 20. A third man Darbad Mares-Rasull was found not guilty of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Wright Is Refused Appeal Bid
The man convicted of killing five prostitutes has been refused leave to appeal. Steve Wright, 49, was jailed for a 'whole life sentence' at Ipswich Crown Court in February. At his sentencing, Judge Mr Justice Gross said that "it is right that you should spend your whole life in prison" and that it was a "targeted campaign for murder".

Baby Girl Dies In Dog Attack
An 11-month-old baby has died after being mauled by a pet dog, police in Lancashire have said. The baby girl, from Emily Street in Blackburn, died in hospital at about 23:00 on Monday. Police have arrested a 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of child neglect in connection with the incident.

Man Accused Of Killing Internet Date Girl
A man has been charged with the manslaughter and kidnap of a teenage girl whose body was found dumped in a field. The 32-year-old, of no fixed address, is accused of killing Ashleigh Hall, 17, from Darlington, Co Durham, on Monday night. He is due to appear before Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court later.
