Glasgow Terror Suspect Dies From Burns

An Indian-born engineer has died in hospital following a suspected terrorist attack at Glasgow Airport.

Kafeel Ahmed, 29, originally from Bangalore in India was being treated for severe burns at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

He was one of two men held at the airport after they drove a fuel-laden Jeep into the front doors of the airport on June 30. The vehicle burst into flames and an off-duty policeman doused Ahmed with a fire extinguisher before he was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley.

He suffered 90% burns and spent 33 days in hospital before he died from his injuries.

Ahmed’s suspected co-conspirator Bilal Abdullah, 27, an Iraqui doctor was arrested and charged with conspiring to cause explosions.

Dr Sabeel, Ahmed’s brother was also arrested near Liverpool’s Lime Street station on 30 June. He was charged under the Terrorism Act, accused of not disclosing information that could have helped police arrest a suspected terrorist.

The Glasgow attack came after two suspected car bomb attempts in central London, where local police found two vehicles, which allegedly had gas canisters filled with fuel.
