Doherty pleads guilty to drugs charges

Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty had pleaded guilty to possession of drugs after arriving more than two hours late at a court appearance in London.

An arrest warrant had been issued for the 28-year-old singer earlier on Tuesday after he failed to turn up at 9:30am for a hearing at West London Magistrates' Court.

However, Doherty finally arrived around midday and pleaded guilty to possessing crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ketamine, as well as two driving offences.

He also pleaded guilty to an extra charge of failing to appear in court without reasonable excuse.

The Babyshambles singer was charged after being stopped by police in a car in Kensington High Street in central London on May 5.
