Pair in court over schoolboy's murder

Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a 15-year-old schoolboy who was shot dead in his bedroom.

Michael Dosunmu was shot several times when intruders entered his home in Peckham, south-east London on February 6.

His older sister, Shakira, was also in the house at the time of the incident and she was able to give her brother first aid, but he died in hospital less than an hour later.

Mohammed Sannoh, 18, and Abdi Omar Noor, 21, both of no fixed address, were remanded in custody at City of Westminster Magistrates' on Friday.

They are due to appear before the Old Bailey on August 24.

Four other males, two aged 18, one aged 23 and one aged 16, are on police bail, pending further inquiries.

A £20,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for Michael's death.

Policewoman shot dead on daughter's birthday
The policewoman shot dead on Friday in Bradford was gunned down on her four-year-old daughter's birthday. Pc Sharon Beshenivsky, 38, was shot in the chest as she answered a call to a travel agents shop in Bradford. Her colleague PC Teresa Milburn, 37, was wounded in the shoulder.

Seven people have been arrested in a series of dawn raids across Ashington, Northumbria. Officers executed a second strike at six addresses in the town on Thursday morning following on from a series of early morning raids on Monday.

A man has been injured following an armed police operation at an incident in Dovecot, Merseyside, on Thursday morning. At 7am police were called to a house on Shellingford Road to a report of a woman being held hostage by a man.

Five Die In House Fire
Five people, including two young children and a baby, have been killed in a house fire in Sheffield. The children, believed to be two boys, aged seven and nine, and a nine-week-old baby died as well as their aunt, 20, and grandmother, 54. One neighbour said the grandmother ran back inside to try to save the victims.
