Third arrest over Liverpool stabbing

Police investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Merseyside at the weekend have arrested a third teenager.

Marlon Moran, 21, who was of mixed race, was stabbed during an altercation in Byron Street in Garston on Sunday afternoon.

Mr Moran, a handyman, was taken to hospital but died later that afternoon. A post-mortem revealed that he died as a result of a stab wound to his side.

Police are investigating whether or not the attack was racially motivated, but have also said that it may not have been the primary motive behind the attack.

They have said that they believe Mr Moran had gone to confront another group following an earlier altercation.

Police also said that they believed the incident was a targeted attack.

Two youths - a 17-year-old boy from Anfield and a 16-year-old boy from Garston - were arrested at the scene.

Another 16-year-old boy from Garston has also now been arrested.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crimestoppers on: 0800 555 111.
