A 16-year-old youth has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another teenager was stabbed to death in Newcastle.

The body of the boy, also believed to be 16, was found around 2am on Tuesday morning in the Hallow Drive area of Throckley.

Northumbria Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The death follows the fatal stabbing of another 16-year-old in the city earlier this month.
