Killer's jail term increased

One of the pair given custodial sentences for the murder of lawyer Tom ap Ryhs Pryce has been given a longer sentence.

The Court of Appeal found that the 17-year sentence handed down to Delano Brown was "unduly lenient" and the term was increased to 20 years.

However, the court ruled that the 20-year minimum tariff imposed on Donnel Carty, 19, was "appropriate."

Mr ap Rhys Pryce, a 31-year-old lawyer, was stabbed in the chest during a mugging in London's Kensal Green on January 12, 2006.

The Court of Appeal had been requested to review the case by the Attorney General who was concerned that the terms did not match the seriousness of the offence.
