Video footage of Japanese suspect released

Video footage of a man being sought in connection with the death of a British teacher has been released.

Lindsay Ann Hawker, 22, from Warwickshire, was found in a bath of sand at the apartment of Tatsuya Ichihashi in Tokyo.

The footage released is of Mr Ichihashi in the elevator of the building in the Ichikawa area of eastern Tokyo.

Ms Hawker had been teaching English at a school in Tokyo.

A post-mortem revealed that she was suffocated or strangled. She had suffered injuries to her face and arms.

Mr Ichihashi, 28, is being sought by police in connection with the death and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Last month CCTV images of the teacher with Mr Ichihashi hours before her death were shown on Japanese television.

Ms Hawker's father has denied that there was any relationship with the suspect and it is believed that she had been tutoring English.
