Sugababes singer 'arrested over assault'
Sugababes singer Amelle Berrabah has reportedly been arrested over the alleged assault of an 18-year-old woman in a bar in Guildford.
The assault allegedly took place in Bar Med on Saturday night.
Surrey Police confirmed that a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault following the incident, but she was later released on police bail. Police have not confirmed the name of the woman.
According to newspaper reports, Miss Berrabah later joined her band-mates Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range on a flight to the US.
Island, the Sugababes record label, has not commented on the reports.
Miss Berrabah is the latest member to join the Sugababes. She replaced original member Mutya Buena in December 2005.
Original member Siobhan Donaghy left the band in 2001.
The Sugababes are one of the UK's most successful all-girl groups, with a string of hits over the past seven years including 'Overload', 'Freak Like Me', 'Push The Button' and 'Round Round'.
The girls' recently joined fellow girl band Girls Aloud to record this year's Comic Relief single, a cover version of the Aerosmith and Run DMC hit 'Walk This Way'.
