Six men arrested in anti-terror raids
Six men have been arrested in a series of anti-terror raids, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
It is believed that the men were arrested on suspicion of inciting others to commit acts of terrorism abroad and terrorist fund-raising.
Five men were arrested in London, while another suspect was arrested in Luton in Bedfordshire.
It is understood that radical Muslim preacher Abu Izzadeen is among those arrested.
Mr Izzadeen made headlines last year when he heckled Home Secretary John Reid at an event.
The men are all being held at the high security Paddington Green police station.
Scotland Yard confirmed that a number of searches are also continuing in connection with the raids.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "The arrests form part of a long-term pro-active and complex investigation into alleged incitement and radicalisation for the purposes of terrorism, as well as alleged provision of financial support for international terrorism."
