Two men charged over Port Talbot murder

Two men have been charged with the murder of a former soldier whose body was discovered in a lane in Port Talbot at the weekend.

The body of Wayne Oglesby, 30, was discovered in a lane at Grove Place in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Adam Drew, 20, and a 17-year-old youth who cannot be named appeared before Neath Magistrates Court on Wednesday. They are due to appear before Swansea Crown Court on April 20.

Mr Oglesby had previously served with the Royal Regiment of Wales.

A statement issued by his family on Tuesday said: "Wayne was a devoted partner to Cheryl and devoted father to nine-year-old Jordan and was one of seven children.

"A generous family man, he returned home after serving with the Royal Regiment of Wales to be closer to his family.

"He enjoyed life to the full, particularly mountain-biking and weight-lifting, and will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends."

Police are still appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone with any information to contact them at Port Talbot Police Station on: 01639 889127 or Crimestoppers anonymously on: 0800 555 111.
