Lampard ruled out of England squad for Andorra
England midfielder Frank Lampard has been ruled out of the squad for the team's Euro 2008 qualifier against Andorra on Wednesday night.
The 28-year-old Chelsea star has been left out of the squad due to a wrist fracture sustained during training on Monday.
Lampard received the injury after being struck by a shot from Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney during the training session.
He took part in training on Tuesday, but scans showed that the injury was worse than first thought, confirming ruptured ligaments as well as the fracture.
Bayern Munich's Owen Hargreaves will now start in Lampard's place in midfield alongside Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
Chelsea defender Ashley Cole returns to the squad from suspension and will replace Liverpool's Jamie Carragher.
Manchester City defender Micah Richards will replace Everton's Phil Neville in the right-back position.
The match, which is taking place at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, kicks off at 8pm on Wednesday night.
