Teenager arrested over schoolboy stabbing

Police investigating the murder of 15-year-old Adam Regis in east London have arrested a teenager.

Adam, from Plaistow, was stabbed in the chest and abdomen at the junction of Boundary Road and Kingsland Road, near West Ham FC's stadium, on Saturday.

Adam, who is the nephew of Olympic medal-winning athlete John Regis, is believed to have been attacked as he returned from a cinema in Beckton.

Police had appealed for information about two black males who were seen running from the area.

It is understood that a male youth was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning in East Ham and was taken to an east London police station for questioning.

Adam attended Kingsford Community School in Beckton, east London. Head teacher Joan Deslandes paid tribute to him saying: "Adam was a pleasure to have around the school and we will always remember him with a smile on his face.

"Adam really was a model pupil. This is a tragic loss to everyone."

Four released over teenager's stabbing
Three men arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 15-year-old Adam Regis in east London at the weekend have been released without charge. The men, aged 22, 20 and 19, were arrested at an address in Beckton, east London on Tuesday evening.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of 12-year-old girl in east London. Three males lead the girl to a "secluded" end of a street in Walthamstow at around 00:15 on Saturday before two of them attacked her, held her down and raped her.

Four more arrests over Regis killing
Four more arrests have been made by police investigating the killing of 15-year-old Adam Regis in east London. Adam, from Plaistow, east London, who was the nephew of Olympic sprinter John Regis, was stabbed in the chest and abdomen after a night out on 17 March.

East London Murder Appeal
Detectives have appealed for information about the murder of a woman in Manor Park. Aliza Ahmed Mirza, 18, a student from Ilford, died on Saturday 3 April. Police had been called to reports of a collapsed female. It is believed she was stabbed while in the Forest View Road area. Miss Mirza was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead.

Father Appeals Over Paralysed Son's Shooting
The father of a teenager paralysed in a shooting incident has joined investigating officers to urge witnesses to come forward. Speaking from his son's hospital bedside Paul Smith said he knew people had information about those who shot and injured Raphael Smith, but couldn't understand why they had not spoken to police.
