Four arrested in car crash murder investigation
Four people have been arrested in Reading following the discovery of a man found dead in a car which had collided with a tree.
Three men aged 23, 27 and 42 and a woman aged 44 are currently being held in custody at Reading police station.
A murder investigation was launched after the man was found dead in a car at the junction of London Road and Kendrick Road shortly after 8pm on Wednesday night.
Police said that they suspected that the man's death was not due to the collision. In a statement Thames Valley Police said that the victim, believed to be in his mid-thirties, appeared not to have been shot or fatally injured while driving.
A full post-mortem is due to be carried out to establish the cause of death.
The area where the collision took place has been sealed off.
On Thursday, Detective Inspector Rebecca Mears appealed for witnesses to come forward. She said: "I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the London Road, Kendrick Road and Cemetery Junction area between 7pm and 8:30pm last night."

Man Killed By Police Car In Reading
A man has died after being struck by a police car in Reading. A police officer also hit by the same car is being treated in hospital, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Police say that the two men were struck by a patrol car responding to a report of a burglary in Eastern Avenue at about 01:45 on Wednesday morning.

Man Arrested In Toddler Death Probe
A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a three-year-old girl. The toddler was brought to hospital on Friday but died in the early hours of Saturday morning. A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A 30-year-old man from Beck Road, Shiregreen, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and inquiries are continuing.

A 46-year-old man is being questioned by police in relation to an attack which left a man dead and his son seriously injured. Graham McKenna, 45, and his 14-year-old son Michael were stabbed on Upton Road in Claughton, Wirral, Merseyside.

Two 14-Year-Old Boys Charged With Manslaughter
Two 14-year-old boys have been charged with manslaughter following the death of a 41-year-old father-of-two in Leicester. Ponnuthurai Nimalaraja, known as Nimal, was assaulted at the junction of Gypsy Lane and Northfield Road shortly after 23:00 on 9 June. Mr Nimalaraja died in hospital on 16 June, one week after being attacked.

PC Jailed Over Schoolgirl's Crash Death
A police officer who caused the death of a teenage girl by dangerous driving, has been jailed for three years. Hayley Adamson, 16, was killed when she stepped out into the path of PC John Dougal's car in Newcastle's Denton Road on 19 May last year. Dougal was chasing a suspect car at the time, but did not have his siren or blue lights switched on.
