Murder investigation continues into toddler's death

Police are continuing to question one man in connection with the death of a two-year-old girl in Leeds on Sunday.

The toddler, named in media reports as Casey Leigh Mullen, was found dead at an address in the Gipton area of the city on Sunday.

A post-mortem has been carried out, but West Yorkshire Police said that they would not reveal the cause of death because of "operational reasons". However, police are treating the death as murder.

Three men - aged 19, 20 and 21 - were arrested on suspicion of murder, but two of the men were later released without charge.

The 21-year-old remains in police custody. He has now also been arrested for an offence of serious sexual assault in connection with this incident.

Forensic examinations are continuing at two addresses in the Leeds area.
