Pair charged under Terrorism Act
Two men arrested during raids in West Yorkshire last week have been charged under the Terrorism Act.
Rizwan Ditta, 29 and Mohammed Bilal, 25, both from Halifax were arrested by anti-terrorism officers in a series of raids carried out by Metropolitan and West Yorkshire Police on January 23.
Mr Ditta, of Royd Terrace, is charged with 13 offences under the Act. These relate to allegations that he possessed several computer files with titles such as Attack Against American Troops, Sound of Jihad and Hamas Bomb and Instructions.
Mr Bilal, of Thrum Hall Close, faces two charges under the Act. It is alleged that he had a record containing information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing an act of terrorism, "without reasonable excuse".
This charge relates to five copies of a CD called The Manhattan Raid and a computer file with the same title.
Mr Bilal is also accused of possessing a disc containing a clip called Al-Qaeda.
Both men are due to appear before the City of Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
