BA flight cancellation chaos looms

The breakdown of talks with cabin crews over pay and working conditions has led to the cancellation of BA's Heathrow flights for two days next week.

The airline has also cancelled all European and domestic flights from Gatwick on Tuesday January 30 and Wednesday January 31.

The decision to suspend flights for two days follows the failure of talks with unions to secure a resolution to problems with working conditions for cabin crew who are unhappy with changes in the company's sickness policy, pay and staffing levels.

The walkout next week is to be followed by further three-day strikes between Monday February 5 and Monday February 12.

Next week's flight cancellations are expected to have a knock on effect on flights after Wednesday January 31, and also affect flights prior to Tuesday January 30.
