Teens charged over park shooting
Two teenagers have been charged with the shooting of a 17-year-old youth in a park in Greater Manchester.
The teenage boy, who has not been named, was shot three times in the back, stomach and leg as he cycled through Longford Park in Stretford on December 29.
He needed to have emergency surgery following the shooting and remains in hospital where his condition is described as comfortable.
Neville Paul, 18, from Warrington, Cheshire and a 15-year-old boy from Stretford who cannot be named for legal reasons have both been charged with conspiracy to murder, while the 15-year-old has also been charged with robbery.
Both teenagers are due to appear before Trafford Magistrates on Friday.

Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.

West Lothian Police investigating the discovery of a man's body on Wednesday night have arrested two 18-year-old men. Police say that the body of a 31-year-old was found at a house in Marmion Road in Bathgate at about 17:40 on Wednesday. The death is being treated as "unexplained". Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Government aim to educate teenagers away from crime
A new teaching resource aimed at helping educate teenagers away from crime was launched today by the Home Secretary, David Blunkett. The Watch Over Me II video is aimed at helping young people ensure their personal safety and covers a broad range of challenging issues including domestic violence, drugs, gun crime and forced marriage.
