Coach crash driver released on bail
The driver of a coach who was arrested after a fatal accident on the M25 has been released on police bail.
The driver of the National Express coach was bailed until February 21.
Two passengers - a man and a woman - were killed and many others were injured when the coach overturned on a slip road shortly before midnight on Wednesday night.
According to reports, 23 people are still in hospital, with two people in a critical condition and ten people in a serious condition.
Some of those involved in the crash have lost limbs. According to 'The Guardian', these include a mother and her two children - a seven-month-old girl and a three-year-old boy.
The female passenger who died has been identified as Christina Toner, 76, from Dundee. However, the male passenger has not been identified and police have appealed for help in establishing the identity of the man. He is described as in his mid-20s, Oriental and between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8ins tall.
The coach, which was travelling from London to Aberdeen, was carrying 67 passengers, as well as the driver and co-driver.
National Express has withdrawn 12 similar coaches - double-decker Neoplan Skyliners - from service, following the accident.
Investigations into the accident are continuing, but police have said that they do not believe that any other vehicles were involved in the accident. The coach has been removed from the scene for forensic examination.
'The Times' has reported that the same type of coach was involved in an accident in France in which 28 people died and 47 were injured. The coach, carrying German tourists, overturned near Lyon in 2003.
Anyone who witnessed the accident on Wednesday is asked to contact police on: 0845 8505 505.
