Carjacking boy speaks of gun ordeal

An eight-year-old boy who had a gun held to his head during a carjacking has said that he feared he and his mother would be shot.

Ifnan Aslam, who is living with cancer, was sitting in his mother, Nabeela's, BMW X5, at the Red Lion Filing Station on Stockport Road in Cheadle, Greater Manchester on Monday, when a gang of three men approached the car.

Mrs Aslam, 27, had been filling up the water tank of the car when the men knocked her out of the way and pointed a gun at Ifnan's head. She told her son to hand over the keys of the car and he got out of the car and the gang drove off.

The car later crashed into a bus and was abandoned. Three men were seen leaving the scene.

Speaking to reporters, Ifnan said that he was "very frightened" by the attack and that he thought the gang would shoot him and his mother. The schoolboy said that one of the gang pushed a gun into his head and said that it hurt.

Mrs Aslam said that the attack had had a huge impact on their family, particularly on her son, but said that it would not stop her going about her daily business.

Police said that they believed that the gang were linked to a black Audi which was seen driving alongside Mrs Aslam's BMW after it had been stolen.

It is believed that the Audi was stolen during a burglary at a house in Oldham on Saturday mad and it was found abandoned in Levenshulme on Tuesday.

Two of the suspects are described as white, while the other is believed to be of mixed race. All are described as being of stocky build and aged between 19 and 21. One of the white men was described as wearing dark clothing and being around 5ft 8ins in height.

Anyone who witnesses the incident is asked to contact police.
