CCTV footage found in search for missing woman
Police investigating the disappearance of a woman in Ipswich have discovered CCTV footage of her on the night she disappeared.
Tania Nicol, 19, disappeared on October 30 after leaving her home in Woolverstone Close to work as a prostitute.
The CCTV footage shows Tania close to the exit of the Sainsbury's garage on London Road as she walked in the direction of the town centre at 11:02pm on October 30.
Detective Chief Inspector John Quinton from Suffolk Police said: "Officers on the enquiry have spent many hours studying CCTV footage - and with the help of Tania's family, we have been able to establish that this image is of Tania.
"Finding this image is important as we now have a definite indication of where Tania was and when on the night she went missing.
"I hope that, by releasing this image, it might jog the memories of people who were in the area at the time and prompt them to come forward with any information they might have."
Tania is described as having an olive spotty complexion. She is around 5ft 2ins tall, of slim build, with shoulder-length light brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a light coloured top, mid-blue cut-off jeans and pink high-heeled shoes.
Suffolk Police are also investigating the disappearance of another prostitute, 25-year-old Gemma Adams, who disappeared after leaving her home in Blenheim Road in Ipswich on November 14, also to work as a prostitute.
Her partner reported her missing in the early hours of November 15 when she failed to return home as normal.
Gemma is described as white, 5ft 2ins tall, of small build with long blonde hair, which was worn down, and a spotted complexion.
When she was last seen, she was wearing a black waterproof waist length jacket with a hood and a zip up the front, light blue jeans with studs on the pockets, a red top and white and chrome Nike trainers. She has several gold earrings in each ear, silver rings on both hands and was wearing a black watch. She was also carrying a black handbag.
Police said that there were "obvious similarities" between both disappearances but said that they were treating both investigations as separate at this stage.
