Teacher cleared of having sex with pupil
A female teacher has been found not guilty of engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old pupil.
Rebecca Poole, 26, from May Lane, Hollywood, Worcestershire, was cleared of three charges of sexual activity with a child and one count of abuse of trust.
At Birmingham Crown Court, it was alleged that Mrs Poole had had a consensual sexual relationship with the boy over a period of months, during which, it was claimed, they had sex in her husband's Porsche on a number of occasions.
Mrs Poole had also been filmed on a mobile phone camera performing a sex act on the boy in a drama studio at the school she taught in in Birmingham. However, she said that the boy had forced her to do so by holding a screwdriver to her neck.
When the video footage was discovered on the boy's phone by his parents, Mrs Poole was arrested.
In a statement read outside court by her solicitor, Mrs Poole said that she was "ecstatic" at the verdict.
