Suspicion that man fed wife to pigs

A 54-year-old engineer has been convicted of murdering his wife in 2002.

Martin Baker of Egham, Surrey was convicted despite no trace of his wife, Tina's, body being found.

The 41-year-old was last seen going to feed the animals at their farm in July 2002.

Pigswill and manure were checked at the farm after Baker's first wife Gillian Hopkins told police that prior to their divorce he had threatened to feed her to the pigs.

The prosecution said that there was powerful circumstantial evidence that Baker had killed his second wife and disposed of her car.

Baker was remanded in custody for sentencing.
