Man remanded over Lesley Molseed murder
A 53-year-old man has been remanded in custody over the murder of schoolgirl Lesley Molseed over 30 years ago.
Ronald Castree, from Oldham, Greater Manchester, was arrested on Sunday in connection with the murder.
He appeared at Calderdale Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, where he was remanded in custody to reappear at Bradford Crown Court on November 14.
Lesley disappeared from her home in Rochdale on October 5, 1975, after leaving to go to local shops on an errand for her mother.
Her body was discovered three days later on open moorland just off the A672 in Ripponden, West Yorkshire. She had been stabbed 12 times and had also been sexually assaulted.
Stefan Kiszko was convicted of Lesley's murder and spent 16 years in prison before being freed on appeal when new evidence revealed that he could not have carried out the murder. He died the following year.
