Father arrested over double child deaths
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of his two children in Bodelwyddan, in north Wales.
The children - a five-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy - were found at a property in Coronation Close in the village just before 11pm on Sunday night.
They were taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd where they were later pronounced dead.
Police confirmed that the man who was arrested was the father of the two children, but have not yet confirmed his name, nor that of the children.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Jolly said: "We are keeping a completely open mind about the cause of the deaths and we are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry.
"We do not expect the results of the post mortems until tomorrow. It would be completely wrong to speculate about the cause of death at this moment."
A statement released by the family through North Wales Police said: "We cannot express just how much we loved our two little angels and how grief-stricken we are."
