Family appeal over hit-and-run death
The father of a ten-year-old boy who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Edinburgh has made an emotional appeal for information to find his killers.
Jack Anderson's father Michael said: "We're still coming to terms with what has happened. We think of the things we never had a chance to do with him - walking him to secondary school, taking him running. It is difficult to accept. Why Jack?
"He had crossed that road thousands of times - it was the safest part of the road. We don't understand why someone would do that to him and leave him."
Mr Anderson described his son as a "happy-go-lucky wee boy".
He said: "He was a quiet lad but always happy. You couldn't fault him at all. He loved playing outdoors with his pals."
Mr Anderson described how Jack was a huge 'Star Wars' fan, who was "fascinated" with the films and would play games based on them.
Jack was knocked down by a green Peugeot close to his home last Thursday afternoon.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lothian and Borders Police on: 0131 620 5104 or Crimestoppers anonymously on: 0800 555 111.
