Woman appears in court on terror charges
A British woman has appeared in court accused of providing her husband with financial support while he allegedly went to Pakistan for terrorism training.
Mehreen Haji, 26, of Cheetham Hill, Manchester, was arrested by Greater Manchester Police's anti-terrorist unit on September 19 as part of an ongoing investigation.
She was charged with two offences of entering into funding arrangements for the purposes of terrorism on Monday.
It is alleged that Mrs Haji entered into an arrangement to make £2,500 available to Habib Ahmed on May 11 and a further £1,999 on May 12.
She was remanded in custody at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court to reappear on October 3.
Mr Ahmed appeared before the same court last week accused of collecting information about potential terrorist targets, as well as travelling to Pakistan for the purpose of terrorism training. He was remanded in custody until Thursday.
