Five people charged with Christopher Alaneme murder

Five men have been charged in connection with the murder of Kent teenager Christopher Alaneme.

The 18-year-old was found fatally stabbed in Sheerness High Street in Kent around midnight on April 21.

The five men who have been charged - Peter Connolly, 29, Andrew Giblin, 26, Terence Beaney, 23, Sean Duhig, 23 and Gerry Duhig, 27, all from south-east London - appeared before magistrates in Maidstone on Wednesday.

Mr Connolly, Mr Giblin and Mr Beaney also face a further charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

All five men were remanded in custody and are due to reappear at Maidstone Crown Court on September 25.

Five men charged with Somerset murder
Five men have been charged with murder following the death of a man in Weston-super-Mare in Somerset. John Nigel Dunn, 44, of no fixed abode, was found in the centre of Weston-super-Mare on Friday. He was taken to hospital, but died later. A post-mortem revealed that he died from a head injury and multiple woundings.

Arrests Made Over Fatal Stabbing
Three men have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a teenager in east London earlier this year. Godwin Lawson, a 17-year-old footballer from Enfield, north London, died after he was stabbed in Stamford Hill on 27 March. Two other men, aged 18 and 20, were also stabbed during the incident.

The Office of National Statistics (ONS) has reported that, during the recent heat wave, there were more than 2,000 deaths over and above the monthly average. On each of the 10 days from August 4 to August 13, estimated numbers of deaths in England and Wales were above average for those days over the last five years.
