Euan Blair being treated in hospital

Prime Minister Tony Blair's eldest son Euan is being treated in hospital in Barbados, Downing Street has confirmed.

The 22-year-old, who had been on a three-week holiday with the rest of the Blair family, was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, near Bridgetown, on Thursday suffering from a stomach complaint.

Downing Street said that Euan's condition was not serious and he had not undergone surgery.

His mother, Cherie Blair, is understood to be at the hospital with him. Mr Blair returned to the UK on Friday morning.

Euan recently accepted a place at the prestigious Yale college in the US to study a two-year Masters course in international relations.

He completed an unpaid internship in Washington earlier this year.
