Four released over soldier's death

Four serviceman who were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the death of a solider at barracks in Wiltshire have been released on bail.

The men were arrested following the sudden death of Private Gavin Williams at Lucknow Barracks in Tidworth on Monday.

Pt Williams, 22, from the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Welsh, collapsed and died while exercising at the barracks. It is understood that the soldier, from Hengoed, Caerphilly, being disciplined for an act of misbehaviour and other misdemeanours.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that the four soldiers - aged 44, 35, 31 and 28 - had been released on bail pending further inquiries, including the outcome of various forensic tests.

A fifth man, aged 29, was also released on bail on Wednesday.

Troops arrested after field excercise death
Five soldiers have now been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, following the death of a soldier at army barracks in Wiltshire. The 22-year-old serviceman collapsed and died around noon on Monday, following exercises at Lucknow Barracks in Tidworth. On Monday, four soldiers were held for questioning, and on Tuesday a fifth was arrested.

Chris Tarrant Questioned Over 'Assault'
TV presenter Chris Tarrant has been arrested following an alleged assault during a domestic incident at his home, it has been emerged. Tarrant, who hosts Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? And Colour of Money, was questioned by officers at Staines police station in Middlesex after a woman claimed she was assaulted.
