Police appeal over double murder
Drinkers in a pub close to a suspected massage parlour where two women were murdered have been urged to contact police.
The two women, one aged in her twenties and the other in her forties, were found in the premises in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Both women had suffered severe head injuries.
Detective Chief Inspector Shelia Thornes from West Mercia Police made an appeal for Saturday night drinkers at the neighbouring Wheatsheaf pub to come forward.
She said: "We believe there are a further 30 or so drinkers who were at the pub on Saturday evening that we need to speak and I would urge them to get in touch."
DCI Thornes said that police particularly wanted to speak to at least four people - two men and two women - who had remained in the pub's beer garden after closing time.
One of the man is understood to have been wearing a purple bandanna and said that he had participated in a pirate re-enactment.
Police also said that it is believed that a number of cricket players from Quayside Cricket Club were in the pub that night, following a match against a team from Wellington and asked them to contact them.
