Bail for 'supermarket abduction' man
A 48-year-old man arrested over reports of the abduction of a four-year-old girl in Swansea last week has appeared in court charged with child neglect.
Keith Jelfs, from Bracknell, Berkshire, appeared at Swansea Magistrates' Court on Friday. He was granted unconditional bail and is due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on August 18.
A nationwide hunt was launched for the child, following reports from shoppers at a Sainsbury's supermarket that a young girl had been seen apparently being put into the boot of a car on June 14.
The child was found safe and well in Bracknell on June 18 and is now back with her family.
A 32-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with the incident was released without charge earlier this week.
