Man charged over 'supermarket abduction'

Police have charged a 48-year-old man with child neglect following the reported abduction of a four-year-old girl in Swansea last week.

A nationwide hunt was launched for the child, following reports from shoppers at a Sainsbury's supermarket that a young girl had been seen apparently being put into the boot of a car.

The child was found safe and well in Bracknell around 10pm on Sunday night and is now back with her family.

The 48-year-old man, from Bracknell, who has not been named, was released on conditional bail after being charged in the early hours of Tuesday morning. He is due to appear before Swansea Magistrates' Court on Friday.

A 32-year-old man who was also arrested on Sunday has been released. South Wales Police said that no further action would be taken.
