Three released on bail over teen stabbing

Three youths arrested in connection with the death of a teenager who was fatally stabbed in south London last week have been released on bail.

Fifteen-year-old Alex Mulumbo who is originally from Zaire was stabbed to death in Black Prince Road in Lambeth last Thursday night after apparently getting into a row with a gang of around ten youths.

Alex and his friends were attacked by the group who used a number of different weapons.

A post-mortem revealed that the teenager died from a single stab wound to the heart.

Three male teenagers, two aged 14 and one aged 16, were arrested on Friday and have been bailed until July.

Two other men, aged 18 and 20, also arrested on Saturday, remain in police custody.

Scotland Yard said that the motive for the attack remained unclear.

Alex's father Kamondo Mulumbu said: "Alex was a good boy, he had nothing at all to do with knives."
