Anti-terror police quiz suspects
Eight men are being questioned by anti-terror police after being arrested in a series of raids across England on Wednesday.
More than 500 police officers took part in the raids, which were carried out in Greater Manchester, the West Midlands, Middlesbrough, London and Merseyside.
Eighteen properties were raided during the operation, which was led by Greater Manchester Police.
The raids were part of an operation aimed at cracking down on people suspected of involvement in terrorism abroad, particularly Iraq.
Two other people were also arrested, but were later released.
It is believed that three of the men being held were arrested under the Terrorism Act, while the other five are being held under immigration legislation.
According to reports, all the men are believed to be Libyans.
Greater Manchester Police Chief Constable Michael Todd said that there was no evidence of a direct threat of attack on the UK.

Five Arrested Over Rape Of Teenager In Greater Manchester
Five men have been arrested in police raids in connection with allegations of the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Greater Manchester. Police raided address in Bolton and Farnworth arresting the men on suspicion of rape and conspiracy to rape. It is alleged that the teenager was raped by several men between July 2011 and September 2012.

'Terror' suspects released without charge
The remaining four people arrested during police anti-terror raids in northern England have been released without charge. The four were arrested under the provisions of the Terrorism Act 2000 last week as police carried out a number of raids in the Greater Manchester and surrounding regions.

Two further suspects released following police raids last week
Two of the men held following last week's police raids in relation to suspected terror activities in northern England have been freed without charge. The two men, initially detained by police under the provisions of the Terrorism Act 2000, were released without being charged for terrorist offences.
