Pair plead guilty to gay barman murder
Two men have pleaded guilty to the murder of gay barman Jody Dobrowski, at the Old Bailey on Friday.
Thomas Pickford, 25, unemployed and Scott Walker, 33, a decorator, both of no fixed address, admitted murdering the 24-year-old, after previously denying the charge.
Mr Dobrowski was severely beaten as he walked across Clapham Common in south London on October 15. He died later in hospital.
A post-mortem revealed that the cause of death was severe head, neck and facial injuries.
Mr Dobrowski was so severely beaten that he had to be identified from fingerprints.
Pickford and Walker were remanded in custody and are due to be sentenced on June 16.
Prosecutor Crispin Aylett called for the judge to consider a minimum sentence of 30 years for a crime which he described as "appalling".

A hospital has agreed to fund lifetime care for a man who was brain damaged after being treated for croup as a baby, at a cost of around £10 million. 19-year-old Zach Petrou was left with the mental capacity of a baby following treatment at Stepping Hill Hospital. His parents alleged he was deprived of oxygen during treatment in 1994.

A boy left severely drain damaged after midwives failed to notice foetal distress during his delivery has been awarded £3.85 million at the High Court. Lewis Prosser, now seven years old, was left with severe disabilities in October 1997 when he suffered oxygen starvation during the delivery at Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend.
