Man charged over racist website messages

A man has been charged for posting racist messages on a website set up for murdered teenager Anthony Walker.

Neil Martin, 29, from Maghull, Merseyside, has been charged with racially-aggravated harassment and stirring up racial hatred.

He will appear before Knowsley Magistrates' Court on May 9.

The on-line book of condolence was set up after the 18-year-old, who was black, was killed with an ice axe in Huyton, Merseyside, last July.

Merseyside Police launched an investigation in August after suspect emails were sent to the website.

Two men, 20-year-old Paul Taylor and 17-year-old Michael Barton, were jailed for life for Anthony's murder last December.
