Mary-Ann murderers were 'on probation'
Four of the gang members who murdered teenager Mary-Ann Leneghan were on probation at the time of the killing, it has been revealed.
The news came as a sixth gang member - eighteen-year-old Indrit Krasniqi - was found guilty of the murder of the 16-year-old and the attempted murder of her 18-year-old friend. Four men had previously been found guilty, while a fifth man pleaded guilty.
It was announced today that Krasniqi, Adrian Thomas, 20, Jamaile Morally, 22, and Michael Johnson, 19 - the only member of the gang to plead guilty - had all been on probation at the time of the killing.
Two other gang members, Joshua Morally and Llewellyn Adams, were also found guilty of murder.
The men were also convicted on various charges of rape, assault, kidnap and attempted murder.
Mary-Ann Leneghan and her friend, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were abducted from the car park of a pub in Reading, apparently in revenge for a robbery at Thomas' flat which he blamed the girls for 'setting up'.
The girls were subjected to hours of rape and torture in a room in a local hotel before they were driven to Prospect Park, where Mary-Ann was stabbed to death. Her friend was shot in the head, but managed to survive and crawl from the scene to raise the alarm.
The sentencing of all six men has been adjourned until April 28.
