Police question teen over boy's death
Police are continuing to question a teenager on suspicion of murder, following the disappearance of a young schoolboy.
Eleven-year-old Joe Geeling went missing on Wednesday afternoon. The schoolboy, who suffers from cystic fibrosis, was last seen on Manchester Road in Bury shortly after leaving St Gabriel's Roman Catholic School at 4pm. However, he failed to return home.
A boy's body was discovered in a park in Bury on Thursday. It has not been formally identified, but it is believed to be that of Joe Geeling.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested yesterday, following the discovery of the body. He is still being questioned by police.
Superintendent Peter Scofield from Greater Manchester Police said that he did not anticipate that any more arrests would be made in the case.

Police investigating the fatal stabbing of a four-year-old boy in Huddersfield at the weekend are continuing to question his father. Ryan Hawkins died after being stabbed at a house in Royd Street in Slaithwaite around 1pm on Sunday. A post-mortem revealed that he died from multiple stab wounds.

Police continue to question girl over attack on boy
Police are continuing to question a 12-year-old girl about the attack on five-year-old Anthony Hinchliffe. Five children were originally arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, after Anthony was found, suffering from injuries to his neck on Tuesday. However, the other four children were released without charge.

Arrests Follow Edmonton Murder
Police investigating the murder of 15-year old Negus McLean in Edmonton have today made a further two arrests. A 14-year old boy, and a 16-year old boy, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody. Police were called at 7.25pm on Sunday 10 April to reports of a stabbing in Westminster Road, north London.

Boy aged 15 sentenced to life for Geeling murder
A 15-year-old has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of the 11-year-old schoolboy fatally stabbed in Greater Manchester in March. Michael Hamer had admitted murdering Joe Geeling during a hearing at Manchester Crown Court. The murder was commited when Hamer, who attended the same school as Joe, was 14.
