Suspect arrested over PC shooting
Police have confirmed that a man arrested on Friday at Heathrow Airport is the suspect wanted in connection with the shooting of police officer Rachael Bown.
Police arrested Trevon Kyron Thomas, 24, from Bilborough, Nottingham at Heathrow Airport around 11am on Friday morning.
In a statement, Nottinghamshire Police said: "This morning, the Metropolitan Police arresteda 24-year-old man in connection with the shooting of Pc Rachael Bown. He was arrested at Heathrow Airport. He is the man Nottinghamshire detectives have been keen to trace and whose details were issued to the public earlier today."
Mr Thomas will be brought to Nottinghamshire to be questioned by police.
Pc Bown was shot as she investigated a burglary in the Lenton area of Nottingham, shortly before midnight on Monday.
The 23-year-old, who was nearing the end of a two-year probationary period, had been with an experienced male colleague and was wearing body armour. However, she was shot in the lower abdomen, below the level of the armour.
On Thursday, Ms Bown underwent a second emergency operation at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham and is now described as being in a stable condition.
On Tuesday, she underwent five hours of emergency surgery. She is also being treated for a chest infection.

Man remanded in custody charged with Pc shooting
A man has been remanded in custody today charged with attempted murder over the shooting of policewoman Rachael Bown. Trevon Kyron Thomas, 24, from Bilborough in Nottingham was also been charged with possessing a firearm. There was no application made for bail. He was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Friday morning.

Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.
